IT MAY BE HOT AND DRY IN NEW MEXICO BUT OUR CHILE LOOKS GREAT!
Plan those roasting parties! Just like always, we'll be shipping our outstanding fresh, New Mexican green chile to you direct from Sichler Farms in San Antinio, NM. Throughout the 20 years that we've been keeping you in wonderful New Mexican chile, we've continually searched for the very best of the best and the Sichlers have provided us with that. This year their son Steven is taking over part of the operation - following in the tradition of farming in their family. That 's something to celebrate along with the tastiest chile you can find. So if you want to roast your own we should be able to start shipping fresh green chile the week of August 22th. We'll have more information on dates as we get closer.
Farmer Monte at Los Poblanos, who grows our amazing organic green chile, says that everything is looking good to start harvesting at about the same time as the conventional green chile. We should be able to ship organic, fresh green chile until the middle of September or so. Again, everything always depends on the weather so we'll keep you updated. We should also have new crop frozen green chile around the first of September, so if your chile fix needs to be the quick and easy type you're in luck. New crop red chile will follow along later in the fall.
We still have plenty of chile, both red and green, from last summer's fantastic crop that we're eating every day, so getting a chile fix RIGHT NOW isn't an issue. We have what it takes for the perfect New Mexican fiesta or family dinners. In the Recipes section you'll find all the traditional, yummy dishes that were passed down to my friends from their grandmothers and mothers. No trendy stuff, just old fashioned New Mexican comfort food. You can even convert the non chile eaters in your life since we have everything from extra hot to mild.
I love being able to share the best New Mexican foods with you, thanks for letting me keep you in hot stuff!
